We are happy!

We are very proud to announce that our two RIS middle school students; Burak Saglam and Valeria Lasso have won an honourable mention award at the International Science Olympiad in Houston, Texas.
The students participated in ISWEEP (International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering, and Environment Project) from May 4th to May 9th.
Burak and Valeria presented their project on the development of economical viable magnetic nanoparticles for removal of arsenic from the water.
Both students worked very hard over the last couple of months in preparation for the Olympiad and we at RIS would like to congratulate them for getting HONORABLE MENTION and thank them for all their efforts.
Olympiads are an excellent way to encourage students to work on projects, share ideas, build confidence and take great pride in their work.  They allow a unique opportunity to meet friends from around the world, exchange ideas and develop a cross cultural understanding of their world.
We are happy to announce that two science groups from RIS have been selected and will travel to Istanbul, Turkey May 18th-21st for the 19th annual International Environmental Project Olympiad(INEPO).
We are proud to have Nahan, Burak, Fiffy and Haruka representing RIS with their science projects.  The RIS family wishes them the best of luck and we are proud of their dedication and efforts!!
