RIS bake sale raises $2,000 for Haiyan families in Philippines

Students and teachers here at Rainbow International School are fortunate to have all the necessities we need not only to learn, but also to live. However, not all students and families of the world can be so lucky. We feel it is important to educate our students on the realities of life found around the globe. We want our students to become compassionate global participants and to understand the
importance of helping those in need.
As you will be aware, the worst storm ever to hit land was recorded in the Philippines late last week. Many of the islands in the country were very badly hit, but the worst damage appears to be caused on the islands of Leyte and Cebu.

At the time of writing, over 10,000 people have lost their lives and hundreds of thousands have been made homeless. Survivors are without shelter, food, clean water, medical supplies and other essentials of life, and the existing emergency services are encountering huge problems reaching the people in need because of the damage.
As usual, RIS Students, Teachers and Parents baked, sold and raised 2,000,000 KRW for the families who survived Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. All profits raised will go Philippines Embassy to Korea.
We thank all teachers, parents and students for their help and caring at this time.
